Marjorie Alline Cable Liggett

June 21, 1937 — October 8, 2015

Marjorie Alline Cable was born to Frederick William Cable and Lorrine (Lowry) Cable in Los Angeles California on June 21, 1937. She moved with her parents to Redlands CA where she attended the Redlands Public Schools, graduating from Redlands High School in May, 1955. Marge attended the University of Colorado (Boulder), graduating in May 1959. She taught school briefly before marrying John P (Jack) Liggett in Boulder Colorado in May, 1960. The Liggetts moved to Bartlesville Oklahoma where Jack was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company. The Liggetts are the parents of two daughters: Laura (James) Lingle and Margot (John) Nack both born in Bartlesville. Along with raising two daughters, Marge was involved with Bartlesville Theater Guild, AAUW, Beta Sigma Phi, and activities with Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.Marge was an avid bridge player, a serious reader, and a fine needlewoman. She needlepointed Christmas stockings for each of her four grandsons: Patrick and Charlie Lingle and Finnegan and Henry Nack. She knitted as well, completing many charitable projects such as hats, children's sweaters, and scarves. For a time she lead ""Great Books"" discussions with teens. When her husband retired they travelled extensively and in 2011 moved to Littleton Colorado to be nearer family. Marge was active in Wind Crest Retirement Community affairs: playing bridge, participating in book clubs and playing Scrabble. She continued her needle work for the benefit of others. Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to local Hospice or the American Heart Association.
