Marjorie Dean Lindquist

September 8, 1919 — June 12, 2009

Marj, 89, passed away June 12, 2009 in Aurora, CO She was born in Castleford, ID the daughter of Julius Heinrich Schlake and Lola Candace (Cook) Schlake. She grew up on the family farm with her sister Sarah Marie. Marjorie graduated from the University of Idaho in 1941 with a bachelor's degree in home economics. She married her college sweetheart William D. Lindquist in 1942. He preceded her in death in 1989. Dr. Lindquist's career took the family from Michigan State University to Kansas State University and included living three years in Nigeria, West Africa. The family also traveled to Europe which Marjorie enjoyed very much. Marjorie was a homemaker and was remarkably talented at needlework and painting. She continued to do crafts until her death. Survivors include her three children: daughter, Candace Marie Pannbacker of Manhattan, KS, a son, Bill Lindquist of Aurora, CO, and daughter Juliana Lindquist Bohn of Florence, Italy. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Angela McNeil, William D. Lindquist, Christopher Hayden, Martin A. Bohn, Kai A. Bohn and Erik A. Bohn; 5 great grandchildren: Stephanie Hurd, Brandon Hurd, Jonathan McNeil, David McNeil and Holly Lindquist; one great great granddaughter: Kelsea Nicole Hurd; and a niece and a nephew. Private family services will be held in Las Cruces, NM where she will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Please share condolences at HoranCares.com.
