Mark Lewis Lynn was born on November 25, 1969, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Upon graduating high school, and upon his grandfather’s strong suggestion, Mark enrolled with the Navy until he was honorably discharged. Following his time of service, Mark went on to John Jay College of Criminal Justice, he proceeded from there to work for a spell with the New York DA’s office, and eventually then found his way back to Denver where he worked with Denver Sheriff’s Department before settling in with what became his true love, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Department for 23 years before retiring early due to his long battle with MS.
When not working and over the years, Mark loved music, he loved sports, especially the Broncos, you could often find him at home gaming or practicing on his newly purchased drum set. Together Mark and his husband, Ed Robinson, liked to travel. And, beginning with his Firebird, Mark always had an interest in fast cars, as was evident with the three BMW convertibles he owned throughout his adult years.
Mark and Ed were partnered together for twelve years. They shared in many significant and family moments together.
While it is difficult to accept that Mark’s life ended on April 25, 2023, we take comfort in knowing that he is now able to drive his convertible with full vision, strong legs, and with the stereo blaring. And he no longer has to worry about the police pulling him over.
Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Irene, by his aunt, Jeannie, and by his sister, Patty. A Celebration of Life will be held for Mark on Monday, May 22, 2023, 12:30pm, at the Horan & McConaty Mortuary, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO, 80227, preceded by visitation at 11am. A burial service will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery, at 2:15pm.
