Mark E. McGill

Mark Edward McGill 56, died peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of January 5, 2012 after a noble fight with cancer. Mark was a dedicated family man and took pride in being a husband, grandfather and father. Mark was a retired employee of Lucent Technologies and a volunteer for the Winter Park disabled skier program for over 20 years. Mark brought joy to all who knew him. He is survived by wife, Cheryl Kay McGill; sons Robert Raymond (Leah) and Aaron Raymond (Stacy); grandchildren Bailey, Nicole, Ashley, Emily, and Rachael; father Arch McGill (Jeannie); mother-in-law Virginia Cohen; brothers Arch (Romaine), Greg (Tina), Brian (Elitia); sisters Deb (Mike) Swanson, Susan (Dennis) Marker; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by mother Mary, brother Patrick and sister Karen Astle. Memorial Service will be held Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel located at 5303 E. County Line Rd. in Centennial. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Mark's honor to the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD).
