Mark Edward Smith June 25, 1960, the man, the myth, the legend. ""Marko"", age 59, passed suddenly on Monday, February 17, 2020. His heart couldn't keep up with his day to day activities. Those who knew Mark, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.
We know Mark is with his Dad, Edward Smith, his Aunt, Connie Hale, and his sister-in-law Trish Smith. He is loved here on earth as well as in heaven. He is survived by his mother, Shirley, brothers Bob, Eddie, John, Dave, Matt, and Phillip, his sister, Christy, his sister's in law, Jodi, Sue, Michelle, Karen, Wendy, and brother in law, Kirk. His adoring fan club; nieces and nephews, Cameron, Tori, Alec (Alex), Rachel (Brendan), Big Luke, Courtney, Michael, Kirk, Jackson, Jordan, Little Luke, Devon, Tyson and Mac, great nephews, Ash and Liam, cousins, Barb and Tom, Rick, Mike and many, many friends.
Mark was a loving son and best friend to his mother, Shirley Smith. He devoted his Saturday and Sunday mornings to buy her groceries, bring her doughnuts and a coffee, and just hang out. He was a great conversationalist; his mom likes to talk, and he liked to listen.
Mark held a special place in the hearts of his Family. He was the caretaker of meals. It was his passion to keep everyone fed. He took a week's vacation just to prepare and cook Thanksgiving dinner. He loved his garden, every summer you could count on him to make sure you had your veggies and a fresh baked loaf of zucchini bread. He focused great attention on his nieces and nephews; playing games, making them smile, coming up with new nicknames, stocking an endless supply of candy including red licorice was stashed somewhere, and a silver dollar to go along with it.
Mark took fashion cues from no one. His signature look was a flannel shirt, a comfy pair of sweats or jeans, and his tennis shoes, sold exclusively at Goodwill. He would always say, ""You wouldn't believe the deals you can find there!""
He enjoyed bringing things to life, whether it was building a bike from miscellaneous parts, restoring his first truck, a grey 1957 Chevy, repairing Matt's deck, painting someone's house, or moving furniture. Mark was always there to lend a hand.
Mark was a true friend to his friends- ready and willing at a moment's notice. We Love and Miss you so much Mark XOXO.
