Mark Jon Wilbur

Mark Jon Wilbur, age 52, of Centennial, Colorado passed into the presence of the Lord April 23, 2011. Mark was born November 21, 1958 in Storm Lake, IA, the son of Walter W. and Bonita (Bonebrake) Wilbur. He graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1977, and received an associate degree from Iowa Central Community College in 1979. Mark loved the Lord and his family. On April 18, 1981, Mark was united in marriage to Lisa Flaskerud in Newell, Iowa. They were blessed with one son, Daniel. He valued his many close friends and maintained those friendships throughout the years, from IA to MN to CO. Every season found Mark outdoors. He was an avid snowmobiler with his buddies. Summers he enjoyed camping and four-wheeling in the mountains with family and friends. Mark loved all things mechanical. His first job after graduation was with John Deere in Fort Dodge, IA. He relished having his own business selling Snap-on Tools in Minnesota, where his winning personality garnered him sales awards. Mark worked for International in Minneapolis, where he was an award-winning parts salesman. Mark brought the same high energy and passion for excellence to bus sales at McCandless Truck Center, where he was recognized for his sales by consistently winning International's Triple Diamond Award. Mark accepted Christ as his Savior when he was a child. He was actively involved as a member of Redeemer Baptist Church, Aurora. His thoughtful willingness to always lend a hand was evidenced by his involvement in Awanas, ministry to care for widows, and many small acts of kindness. He was involved in small group Bible studies and singing, both solos and with Heartsingers. He was on the e-board and vendor rep for CSPTA. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Lisa and son Daniel of Centennial; his mother, Bonnie (Don) Kier of Newell, Iowa; sisters: Nikki (Phil) Waters of Hayward, CA; and Karen (Dion) Yost and their daughters Treasure (Loopen) SeJour, and Abby Yost of Sterling, KS; step-brothers: David (Jan) Kier, Tim (Joelle) Kier, Steve (Kolesa) Kier all of Newell; and step-sister Patty (Rusty) Kosky of Storm Lake; extended family and many friends. Preceding him in death were his father Walt and brother Jamie Wilbur. Burial will be in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake, IA at a later date.
