Marsha Dawn Borchert

October 23, 1949 — September 11, 2015

Marsha Dawn Borchert, 65, passed away in her home on September 11, 2015 after an eight-year long battle with ovarian cancer. She was a woman of family, strength, and love. Born on October 23, 1949 in Price, Utah, she was the fourth child of Nolan and Mazel Curtis. She married James Borchert on April 21, 1979 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She thoroughly enjoyed singing and dancing. It started at an early age by standing on her father's feet and learning to dance. She spent five years teaching Sunshine Generation, a song and dance program, to children in Burlington, Colorado and nearby towns. Late in life she volunteered for four years as a tour guide at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. She loved exercising including hiking, biking, and going for walks on the Cherry Creek trail. Even just sitting on the patio and enjoying the birds brought her great pleasure. She was a devoted grandmother (Oma) who was fortunate enough to spend most days of every week playing with, teaching, and loving on her grand children. She was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who served numerous callings. She is survived by her husband, James; her children Erich (Amanda), Hillary (Richard) Stromp; her grandchildren Justin, Katie, Tyler, Hayley Stromp, Aaron Stromp; brothers and sisters Ken (Ruth) Curtis, Ward (Karen) Curtis, Deanna (Randy) Mecham, Lowell (Cheryl) Curtis, Monte (Lucy) Curtis, Debbie Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be Friday, September 18, 2015 at 10:30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Denver Stake Center 2710 S. Monaco Parkway Denver, Colorado with a visitation beginning at 9:30. Interment will be in Moab, Utah on a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance in her honor (http://www.colo-ovariancancer.org/).
