Marshall Piccone, Denver, passed away in the company of his wife and his family on March 20, 2007. Marshall was born on October 10, 1922, in Denver to Vincenzo James and Nicoletta M. Piccone. Marshall was a stellar student, having received straight A's throughout his academic career and graduating with a BS, Chemistry from Regis College (1943) and a MS, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (1947) from the University of Denver. Marshall went to Mt. Carmel Elementary School and Holy Family High School. He was commissioned in the Unites States Navy in May 1944. He was in active service in the United States and Japan until June 10, 1946, and was in the reserves until December 1953. He worked at the University of Denver Research Institute and Beach Aircraft in his early career, but spent most of his professional life as a materials specialist at Martin Marietta, working on the Titan, Sky Lab and Space Shuttle programs. Later in his career, Marshall worked for the Colorado Department of Transportation spending most of his time on design for the Glenwood Canyon Project. Marshall is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Marie; children, Jim (Lisa), George (Kristi), Marsha (Dave Mayhan) and Tom (Judi). His son, John (Barbara) predeceased him on February 13, 2007. Nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews survive Marshall also. John Marshall Piccone, son of Marshall Piccone and Marie Piccone, died in Dover, Delaware on February 13, 2007, in his home. He was 58. John was born May 11, 1948, in Denver, Colorado. John received his accounting degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado. He worked as a chef/manager at the Pizza Hut in Estes Park, Colorado and at the Peaceful Valley Resort and Guest Ranch in Colorado. John was in the National Guard and Army reserves for eleven years. John is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years, Barbara. He and his wife lived in Dover for the last nine years. His father, Marshall, whose death is reported above, also survived him. He is also survived by his mother, Marie Piccone of Denver, Colorado; two sons, John (Ruth) Piccone, of Helena, Montana, and Sean (Shawnda) Piccone, of Beloit, Wisconsin; brothers Jim Piccone, George Piccone and Tom Piccone and sister, Marsha Piccone, all of Denver, Colorado; and four grandchildren Trevor, Jodi, Katie, and Jessica Piccone. A Memorial Mass for Marshall Piccone and his son, John Marshall Piccone, will be celebrated on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 3549 Navajo St., Denver.
