Marta Phipps Talman

Marta, Mom, Nana, Yaya, and Turtle—all the names this amazing, wonderful woman was called. Marta was preceded in death by her parents; Janet and Gerald Phipps of Denver and her sister; Sandra Dennehy of Cherry Hills Village. She leaves behind her loving daughter and son in law, Ben and Vicki Owens of Englewood and her 5 beautiful grandchildren: Andrew, Burgandi, Brison, Jillian, and Georgia. Marta also leaves behind her sister, Karen Sass of Greenwood Village, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and many great friends and extended family. Marta was an avid sports lover who played golf, bowled, rode horses, and skied. Marta loved the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies along with adoring hockey and tolerating basketball. Marta’s other favorite sports were Formula One auto racing, figure skating, any Olympic sport, the rodeo, and whichever sport her grandchildren were currently playing. Along with sports Marta loved good art, good music, bridge and good food. She was very involved in The Junior League in Denver along with the Denver Debutante Ball. Marta will be missed every day and was loved so much during her time on earth. A Memorial Service will be held in Marta's honor Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 1PM at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home (11150 E. Dartmouth Ave. Aurora, CO 80014).
