Martha Jane Denton

July 24, 1922 — March 15, 2011

Martha was born and raised in Sharon, Pennsylvania and graduated from Sharon High School. She worked in different industries including but not limited to Department Stores, a life insurance company, Greyhound Transportation and Sharon Steel Company as an executive secretary, sales clerk and bookkeeper. She married her husband Bill in 1956 and quit work when their daughter Billie was born in 1960. She went back to work as council clerk and Assistant Auditor for Hubbard, Ohio where Martha and Bill moved to and bought their first house. In 1965, Bill changed jobs and they moved to the Chicago, Illinois area. In 1977, Martha and her daughter moved to Phoenix, Arizona where Martha resided for 25 years. After working for Greyhoud as an accountant for 8 years, the company was sold to Trailways, Martha went to work as a foster grandmother in the Neo Natal Nursery as St. Joseph Hospital in Phoenix. Taking care of premature babies was Martha's most rewarding job. She worked there for 8 years until she developed osteoarthritis in which she found a home at Cherry Creek Nursing Center. Martha's daughter Billie married a fellow from Denver and they lived in Centennial. They have 3 sons, Austin, Luke and Dante. Billie, Luke and Dante live in Phoenix. Austin is married to Natasha and lives in Colorado with their daughters Aubrey and Grace. Martha had Nate of Flagstaff, AZ, Erik and Alex as ""grand sons"". She loved them as her own. Although she had great careers and worked for over 60 years, Marth considerend being a wife, mother and grandmother as the loves of her life. While living at Cherry Creek Nursing Home, Martha stayed busy with volunterring. She was Resident Council President, Corner Store Gift Shop store manager, and helped with special projects. She also delivered mail. Martha enjoyed crossword puzzles and to write to her friends in longhand because she wasn't computer savvy. She also enjot\yed bingo, pokeno and trivia activities. ""I do believe this world is like a puzzle and we are each a piece of it.
