Martha Cecelia Looking - Cloud Featherman, Nunp Nanpsaka Win, started her journey to the Spirit World on Thursday, May 29th, 2014, in Denver, Colorado. She was born on September 16th 1925 to John Looking Cloud Sr. and Kaytie Black Crow Looking Cloud. She spent her childhood in Potato Creek, on the Pine Ridge Reservation, South Dakota. She attended the boarding school in Pine Ridge. She started to work at age 14 at the resort in Sylvan Lake, in the sacred Black Hills. As a young woman, she was a Traditional Women Dancer and attended many powwows. She also was a barrel racer, and attended many rodeos with her family. She first went to Denver to care for her sick mother who was there for treatment. She then stayed and worked at the Mercy hospital until she retired early to take care of her late husband. She stayed in Denver but travelled quite often back to the Reservation, visited a few places in the United States, and also went to France, Belgium and Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Serena, her brothers Johnny and Clyde Looking Cloud, and her sister Roseanne Spotted Eagle - Spotted Bear. She is survived by daughter Bernice Bull Bear, sons Didier DuPont and Ben Sherman, nephews Arlo, Lavern, and Clyde Looking Cloud, many grand children and great grand children.
