Martha J. Marshall

December 28, 1926 — March 3, 2014

Martha J. Marshall was born in Lakewood, Ohio on December 28th, 1926 to John and Anna Marshall. She was the 5th in a line of 6 children. When Martha was in her late 20's, the unexpected death of her baby sister, Jane, lead her to enter the convent as a Dominican nun. She spent 17 years serving the Lord in The Convent of St. Walburga in Boulder. She felt she was not giving enough to the ""outside world"" and therefore left the convent and went to school and became an RN at the age of 52. She worked in Colorado for the next 20 years finishing her career at a local nursing home. She so much enjoyed hiking, traveling, bird watching and the beautiful Colorado sun rises! Martha never married nor had any children. She is survived by one sister, Mary Clare Taylor of Denver. She is preceded in death by brother Robert Marshall, sisters Raphael Marshall, Ida M. Belle, Jane Marshall and nephew Kevin Marshall. Her family of nieces and nephews are: Suzanne Bassett, Kathleen Knowlton, Diane Matoush, Chris Belle, Matthew Belle, Anna Cox, Patricia Upwood, Colleen Miller, Margaret Geoffroy, Michael Marshall, Martha Ricci, Mark Marshall, Brian Cassidy, Nora Jones, Ellen (Nell) Fenton, Janet Cassidy Krajnik, Megan Zepeda and MANY great nephews and nieces. She is also loved by many close and dear friends. Recitation of the Rosary will take place on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 9:30 AM, followed by The Funeral Mass, both at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 13120 East Kentucky Avenue, Aurora, CO 80012.
