Martha ""Kittie"" Shaffer

Shaffer, Martha ""Kittie"" Kittie Shaffer died Monday November 29, 2010 at the age of 88. At the time of her death, she was a resident of The Stratford Assisted Living Facility in Broomfield. She chose to be cremated and not have any services. Kittie worked for the state of Colorado for 35 years, retiring three years ago from the Division of Property Tax. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 28, 1922, but moved to Denver in 1963. Kittie is survived by two daughters, Mary Casey and Martie O'Brien, plus four grandsons, Geoffrey Benedict, Robert Benedict, James Olsen and Michael Olsen. Kittie lived her life the way she wanted to, making no excuses. Her sense of humor was legendary as was her knowledge and love of the National Basketball Association, especially Jason Kidd of the Dallas Mavericks. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
