Martha (Marti) Moore Larson, Englewood, CO, age 71 passed away on February. 17, 2023 after a valiant battle with aplastic anemia. Born Martha Merea Moore on March 14,1952, in Argentia, Newfoundland, Marti was the third daughter of Lt. Col. Lloyd Ewing and Juliet Merea (Osborn) Moore. During her father’s Air Force Career (after 1952), the family also lived in Washington, D.C., Sacramento, CA, and Laon, France before making their home in Colorado. Marti and her father shared a passion for Arabian horses and living on a ranch in Douglas County gave both an opportunity to pursue raising and showing these horses. They were both members of the Colorado Arabian Horse Club and Marti won many trophies and ribbons and continued her passion for horses. Marti graduated from Littleton High School in 1970 and attended Colorado State University where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. After college, Marti returned to the Denver area and became an entrepreneur in Mortgage and Real Estate. She founded multiple businesses. Her first was M & M Mortgage Corp, which she founded two years after Juvenile Diabetes had robbed her of her sight. She worked in the Real Estate Management business for 40 years owning L & M Mortgage Service, Affiliated Colorado Mortgage Corp., Advanced Home Builders, and Trinity Advanced Service. She was still working and running several businesses at the time of her death. Marti married Anthony (Tony) Lee Larson, the love of her life on December 1, 1987, in Hawaii. Marti loved to travel, and she and Tony took many cruises to Hawaii and trips to Disney World and Europe. She continued traveling after Tony’s death in 2014. Marti persevered through many health challenges, diabetes, blindness, kidney transplant and aplastic anemia and her positive attitude was an inspiration to all. She is survived by long term friends, Leslie Cone, Theresa Kuntzsch, JoAnn Holland, David and Sythe Kuntzsch and her dog Gunny. Marti was predeceased by her parents and sisters Juliet Moore Damm and Margaret Moore Lane, her husband Tony, her beloved horse Abu, her seeing-eye. dogs Meo and Hava and her companion dogs Max and Lady. Services will be held on March 14, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Horan & McConaty Chapel, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, CO 80122. Refreshments will be served immediately following the service. Burial will be at Ft Logan National Cemetery at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Marti’s favorite charities; the Humane Society, ASPCA, Guide Dogs of America, the Pacific Whale Foundation or a charity of your choice.
