Marti C. Peart

December 14, 1946 — March 22, 2014

Marti Crider Peart, 67, of Arvada, CO, passed away peacefully in her home on March 22, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her husband Dale Byron Peart, her daughter, Ashley Peart and mother-in-law, Geraldine Vawdrey Peart Christensen. She was born on December 14, 1946 to Willard Louis Crider and Bessie Hannah Eldredge Crider in Salt Lake City, Utah. She grew up in Holladay, Utah and after graduation from Olympus High School (1965) she attended Utah State University. She worked for Mountain Bell Telephone and Illinois Bell Telephone. She was a master seamstress and taught sewing professionally for a time. She loved to knit and could knit on ""auto pilot"" while watching her favorite TV shows and carrying on a conversation simultaneously. Knitting socks was her favorite thing and she made the best socks on the planet! Marti was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and especially loved serving and teaching the young children there. She has also served in the Relief Society (ladies auxiliary) and as the activities chairman (she didn't get the nickname ""Marti Party"" for no reason.) She married her husband, Dale, on November 21, 1975 after a two year courtship and finally being convinced that he was a keeper. During their 38+ years together, they have lived in Murray, UT, Arvada, CO, Corvallis, OR, Champaign, IL and back to Arvada where they have been for the last 33 years. They have two adopted daughters: Lindsay Peart Garner and Ashley Peart as well as Quinn Huff who has been an integral part of their family for 8 years. She is survived by her husband, Dale; daughters, Lindsay (Brandon) Garner of Norcross, GA, and Ashley Peart, granddaughter, Jaysa Garner; ""foster"" daughter, Quinn Huff; brothers, Cody (Debby) Crider of Rockwall, TX and Kelley Crider, of Lakewood, CO; aunt, Zelma (Gerald) Kinnison of San Diego, CA, brother-in-law, Wayne (Sabrina) Peart of Eden, UT; sister-in-law, Michele (Randy) Coats of Hurricane, UT; sister-in-law, Denise (Mark) Hansen of Murray, UT and several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Bill (Willard L.) and Bessie Crider. Marti was a loving mother and grandmother. She adored children and made many friends easily. She was loved, admired and respected by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by all. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, from 6:00-8:00pm, at Horan & McConaty, 7577 West 80th Ave., Arvada. The Funeral service for Marti will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, 11:00am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 12995 W. 72nd Ave., Arvada. A viewing will be held at the Church from 10:00-10:45am. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 12 Noon, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah. A visitation will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary from 11:00-11:45am.
