Martin Donald Chader

December 1, 1953 — December 16, 2019

Marty Chader, a pioneer in the 3D Scanning Industry, resident of Golden, CO, died unexpectedly on December 16, 2019 at the age of 66. He died from a suspected cardiac event while doing what he loved the most; skiing a bluebird day at Keystone.

Marty is survived by his mother, Norine Chader; his wife, Michele Chader; his children, Jessica Lightfoot (Troconis), Sarah Lightfoot, Megan Lightfoot (McDonald), and Colin Chader; his siblings, Steve Chader, Debbie Coad, Christine Chader, and Elizabeth Chader.

Marty was born in Schenectady, New York on December 1, 1953 to Warren and Norine Chader. He attended Niskayuna High, Rochester Institute of Technology and later graduated from Union College in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. He was instrumental in various ""startup"" businesses and worked as a 3D Metrology Business Consultant in the Americas. On September 26, 1998, he married Michele. On that day, he gained three daughters as well. March 15, 2000 he welcomed his beloved son Colin into his families' life. His wife and children were the most important part of his life.

Marty was a devoted father and avid skier with many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed yoga, soccer, camping, dirt biking, motorcycles and four-wheeling in the Rockies and Utah. He was an avid traveler and his dream was to captain a sailboat around the world. His love for music, singing, and associated trivia knowledge was unmatched. He was also a problem-solver who often took on difficult projects for friends as well as projects around the house. The garage was his sacred place for metalworking and repairing motorcycles, cars, or working on electrical projects. He was a man of great faith and involved in many church small groups and mentoring opportunities through Clear Creek Rock House. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on January 25th at Flatirons Community Church West Campus, 24887 Genesee Trail Road, Golden, Colorado 80401. Funeral service flowers are appreciated.
