Marvin Lee F. Daniel

Marvin Lee Franklin Daniel was born on February 27, 1929 at Bluff Springs, Illinois to Frederick W. Daniel and Leila L. (Reichert) Daniel and passed away on March 16, 2018 at the Brookdale Assisted Living in Denver, Colorado at the age of 89. He was a proud veteran of the Korean Conflict where he received the United Nation Service Medal. He then served in the Air National Guard. After his military service, he worked 35 years for Public Service Credit Union from which he retired as a loan officer. Marvin was a lifetime volunteer at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science where he worked as a docent for his specialty, Ancient Egyptology. He was honored for his volunteerism by receiving the status of Volunteer Emeritus. He was a member and served as an usher at Messiah Community Lutheran Church. He contributed to both the Messiah Lutheran Church and Risen Christ Catholic Church. Marvin liked being outdoors as evidenced by his enjoyment of skiing, hiking and birding with his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed playing basketball with the business league, reading history books and mystery novels, and most importantly, he enjoyed traveling all over the world with his wife. He will be remembered for his generous philanthropy with so many organizations. He will be missed by all his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Harlan F. Daniel; nephews, Harlan F. Daniel, Jr. and Brian J. Daniel; his sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Johnson and brother-in-law, Lewis Johnson. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, Joan (Sherman) Daniel; sister-in-law, Helga Daniel; brother-and-sisters-in-law, Richard & Allison Sherman, Mike & Lori Sherman, Mitch & Jan Sherman; nephew, Bruce & Linda Daniel, and Claudia Gill; nieces and nephews, both great and grand -- Jason & Cricket Daniel, Gabe & Suzanne Daniel, Sarah & Daniel Smith, Remy & Scott Reese, Dory Daniel, Sarah Lynch, Melissa & Jake Richardson, Bill Sherman & Julianne Graut, Debbie & Ed Rojas, Diana (Sherman) & Bob Genoway, Tim & Stephanie Johnson, Colleen Aspinwall, Cathleen & Jeff Zietz, Chris Sherman, Stacey Russo, Ben, and Alyssa Sherman and subsequent nieces and nephews in addition to numerous friends and co-workers. A Memorial Service to honor the life of Marvin L. Daniel will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 24, 2018, in the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver, Colorado.
