Interment Monday, June 20, 11:15 a.m. Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area ""C"", 3698 South Sheridan Blvd. in Denver. There will be a procession from Horan & McConaty in Aurora to Fort Logan starting at 10 a.m. Because Marvin spent a majority of his life riding, working on, and enjoying motorcycles, the motorcycle will again play an important part in his history with his remains being carried to Fort Logan by means of a motorcycle hearse To say Marvin had a full and interesting life is an understatement. He was a chauffeur at the age of 18 working for several prominent families in the Denver metro area; started working for the Denver Tramway in 1941; married in 1941; enlisted in the Army Air Force in 1942, his daughter was born in 1943, and he was discharged from the service in 1945. Being a home grown Colorado boy (actually born in the house his parents lived in which is still standing today) he, his wife, and daughter moved to South Denver after he was discharged. Eventually, they scrapped together enough money to build on part of the parcel of land his parents owned. They built their house and a paint shop, and started painting cars and police motorcycles for a living. His income was supplemented by being an escort for funeral processions. Next came the junk yard experience. First behind the house on the now back 9 of Overland Golf Course and then on purchased land on ""Ruby Hill"" where he operated a full scale salvage yard for several years. Marvin's next work experience was again in the driving arena. He purchased a new GMC tractor and leased out to a car hauling firm in Denver. He would haul new cars from Detroit in the winter and cement and aggregate in the summer. In 1960 he and his wife began working for a family in Evergreen until 1984 when they moved back to Denver and began their retirement. His wife took ill and passed in 1991. The balance of years until his passing was spent traveling and enjoying life. He will be deeply missed.
