Mary Lou Abshire

Mary Lou was born in Salida, Colorado on September 13, 1927, and died on November 9, 2007. She graduated from Denver University in 1949. Mary Lou was a caseworker for the city of Denver, and also worked as a Vocational Counselor for the State of Colorado for 30 years, retiring in 2002. She is survived by sons Douglas (Patricia) Abshire of Ft. Lupton, Daniel (Janice) Abshire of Tucson, Arizona, and six grandchildren. Her daughter, Sara McLeod, and her mother, Sara McAbee, have preceded her in death. Memorial Service Saturday, 10:00 A.M., Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado. A reception will follow. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. She requested that memorial remembrances be made to Mount Saint Vincents Children's Home, 4159 Lowell Boulevard, Denver, Colorado, 80211.
