Mary Ellen âBabeâ Carroll OâDea Anderson, 80, passed away peacefully October 4, 2017 after battling ALS. She was surrounded by her family and friends. She was born January 20, 1937 in Denver to Thomas M. and Mary Ellen Carroll. Babe is survived by her husband, Donald O. Anderson; her three children, Joseph (Celeste) OâDea; Dan (Laura) OâDea; and Kate (John Booth) OâDea; two step-children, Diane (Bret) Bach, Wade (Leslie) Anderson; eight grandchildren, Tayler (David Freund, engaged) OâDea. Shane (Elise Jahraus, engaged) DePinto, Kendra DePinto, Ryan OâDea, Meghan OâDea, Sam Anderson, James Anderson and Breanna Bach. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lt. Edward J. OâDea (DPD). She is also survived by five siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. Babe is a lifelong resident of South Denver, where she attended St. Francis DeLa Salle grade school and high school and was a 61-year member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Parish. She believed strongly in family whether it was hers or yours and she shared an ear for any one that came by. Babe worked as the receptionist for C.E.I. for 25 years. Her ready smile will be greatly missed by many. Rosary will be at 7:30pm on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave. (at Parker Road), Aurora, CO 80014. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Parish, 2250 S. Harrison Street, Denver, CO 80210, followed by Entombment at Mount Olivet Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will be held following the service and burial at The Original Brooklynâs, 2644 W. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80204 at approximately 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made on her behalf to National Marfan Foundation, Most Precious Blood Building Fund or ALS Foundation.
