Mary Ellen Baur

Mary Ellen Baur formerly of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. Wife of the late Ed Baur; mother of Laura Tinney, Mary Ann Goff, John Baur, Kathy Baur, Sue Gomez, Terry Hekkala, Patty Harders and Peggy Seracuse. Grandmother of 20. Devoted teacher of over 20 years. Giving to others was an important part of her life. She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years and for multiple troops, receiving special recognition as a Catholic Girl Scout leader. She also taught religious education and marriage preparation workshops. Upon retirement, she devoted many hours to tutoring students both during and after school. She received a special award from the Southern California Reading Association honoring her for her volunteer work and devotion to education.
She and her husband Ed loved to travel and camp. They also participated in activities through Elderhostel. She was an avid reader who taught us all the value of knowledge. A gentle, loving mother, she will be greatly missed. Memorial Mass Tuesday, Nov. 11, 11:30 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic churc, 8035 S.
