Mary Alice Berkshire

Born in Washington, D.C. to Lisle and Jennie Berkshire.

Mary graduated from high school in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She then went to college at Morning Side College in Sioux City, Iowa where she belonged to a Sorority and graduated in 1969 with a degree in Social Work. Later on, she returned to college to get her master's degree in Social Work from Colorado State University in 1988.

Mary spent her life helping other people through the jobs she worked in, as well as volunteer work for the Colorado AIDS Project. Mary worked for the Jefferson County Diversion Program and later on for University Hospital in the Burn and Neurosurgery Intensive Care Unit. She always loved her work and loved taking care of other people.

When not working, she was an avid golfer and spent as much time on the "Links" as she could find time for. People loved her and she had a very active social life.

Mary passed away after a prolonged illness in Arvada, Colorado.

She is survived by her sister, Donna Wilson; and by her partner, Nancy Ferney.
