89, Passed away June 19 in Centennial, CO. Betty was born September 7, 1920, in Loveland, CO to George and Rose Marjorie Burke. She graduated from Loveland High School in 1938 and attended Colorado State Teachers' College (Now the University of Northern Colorado) in Greeley. On September 2, 1942, she married Howard S. Bjelland. They moved to Montrose, CO in 1949, where Betty spent most of the rest of her life. She was active in the community as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and member of many organizations including several bridge clubs, the Reviewers' Club, Republican Women's Club, and Chapter FJ of PEO. Betty was a generous supporter of local charities and cultural activities, including Bosom Buddies and the Valley Symphony. She was a patron of the Magic Circle Players from its inception. Her husband, Howard, and six siblings predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter, Linda, of Centennial, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service is planned for later in Montrose.
