Mary C. ""Kitty"" Bouchard

Mary Catherine ""Kitty"" Bouchard died peacefully in the company of her family on March 27, 2019 at the Brookdale Assisted Living Community. She was 97.

Born on November 17, 1921, in Galveston, Texas to Adam and Mary Catherine Lingenfelter, she graduated from Ursuline Academy there and worked as a secretary. While working as a U.S.O. volunteer at a dance in 1944, she met Lawrence Bouchard, an Army Airman from Rochdale, Massachusetts. After a long courtship and hundreds of love letters, they married in 1947 and remained married for 58 years until Larry's death in 2005. Together they raised six children, moving with Larry's career with Sears from Texas to Louisiana, to New Mexico, and Oklahoma. They settled in Lakewood, Colorado in 1970 where they became active members of Notre Dame Parish, and after Larry's retirement, were able to enjoy travel throughout the world and enjoy their numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kitty spent her life creating a home that supported the active and flourishing lives of her children and their many friends. The Bouchard household was always open and welcoming to accommodate impromptu guests from near and far, and Kitty was one of those people who could make large meals appear from nowhere by opening the cabinets and the freezer and performing what she called ""the miracle of the loaves and fishes."" Kitty was always happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She was an adept Bridge player and loved any good game of cards. An active member of the Altar and Rosary Society at Notre Dame Parish for more than four decades, she helped run the monthly senior citizen luncheon there.

Kitty is survived by five of her children, fifteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry, her son, Harold and her sister, Marie.

Visitation will be Tuesday April 2nd at 10:00 am at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227, followed by a rosary at 11:00 am. Kitty's funeral Mass will be offered at Notre Dame Parish at 2:00 pm on the same day, preceded by a visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. She will be interred with her husband at Fort Logan National Cemetery on April 9th at 2:00 pm, Staging Area A. Flowers may be sent to Horan & McConaty at the above address.
