Mary Elizabeth Davidson

Mary Elizabeth Haller Davidson (Betty), age 98, died peacefully at home on July 23, 2016. Born December 15, 1917, in Omaha NE, she lived in Omaha NE, Dallas Tx, Albuquerque NM, and Denver CO. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Robert C. Davidson, in 1998. She was also predeceased by her eldest grandson, Raymond Davidson. Survivors include children Robert Davidson II (Patricia) of Estancia NM, Mary Beth McGill of Dallas TX, Patricia Hodges of Morrison CO, Susan Putland of Centennial CO, Michael Davidson (Diane) of Albuquerque NM, and Kathryn Mellor of Valley NE. Betty is also survived by the following grandchildren: Vernon Rodney Davidson, Carolyn Henry, Susan Williamson, Robert Wayne Davidson, Michael McGill, Shelley O'Keefe, Jill McGill, Peter Hodges, Chad Hodges, Jennifer Cook, Karl Putland, Amy Putland, Christopher Davidson, Sara Markert, and Lauren Mellor. In addition, Betty is survived by 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Betty worked for Mutual of Omaha prior to marriage in 1939. She was a stay at home mom while she raised and educated her children. Betty worked for Congressman Manual Lujan (NM) after her children were grown. Betty enjoyed reading, gardening, golf, oil painting, and wood working. She volunteered throughout her adulthood with various organizations in her community, to include Cub Scout leader, PTA president, and St Anthony's orphanage volunteer. She housed and educated a Hungarian refugee from 1956 - 1958. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church (Albuquerque NM) for 25+ years. She was an active member of the NM Republican party for 25+ years. Funeral Mass was held on July 30, 2016, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan CO.
