Mary Kathleen "Kathey" Funayama

Kathey Funayama passed from this life into the hands of God on February 9, 2025. Born on July 5, 1941, in New Orleans, LA, within 18 months her family came to Denver where she spent the remainder of her life.

Her faith was an important part of her life. Known for her friendly nature and creative spirit, Kathey will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Kathey’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing. 

She is survived by her daughter, Suzi Savich, son-in-law Richard, and grandson, Dillon. Kathey is also survived by her brother, Jack Mitsch, his wife Connie, and their daughter Chris. Her husband Charles “Chuck” Funayama preceded her in death.

A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor on February 27, 2025, at Horan & McConaty, located at 1091 S Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80246. The mass will begin at 10:00 AM.
