Mary Louise Gedack passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024, at the age of 77 following a long-fought battle against brain cancer. Mary was born in Denver on January 10, 1947, graduated from Marycrest High School in 1965, and entered the workforce. She was a stay-at-home mom until she decided to get her real estate license in 1976. At that time, very few women were real estate agents. Mary hung up her license with a small Denver-based company in its 3rd year. It didn’t take long for Mary, and her company RE/MAX, to become forces to be reckoned with in the industry. Over the next 46 years, Mary worked tirelessly for thousands of clients, many of whom also became good friends. She earned award after award and eventually joined the elite Circle of Legends at RE/MAX. She made lifelong friends both in and outside of the business and loved socializing. Her social schedule was often filled with lunches, dinners, bridge and ladies’ events. She had a knack for remembering everyone’s birthdays and other special events and made so many people feel special with texts, phone calls or handwritten cards.

Mary will be deeply missed by her children Susie Best, husband Mike, grandchildren Justin and Samantha; and Ted Wargin, wife Thrudur, granddaughters Zoe and Mia and step-granddaughters Melkorka and Sara Sverrisdottir; and step-son Franz Gedack Jr, step-grandsons Jeffrey and Matthew; and step-son Troy Gedack step-grandchildren Kaylee and Joshua; and step-grandchildren Ryan, Mikayla, Natasha, Houston, Grace, Jesse and Dustin.

Mary is survived by her brother John (Jan) Whelan and sister Jeanne (Alan) Daniel and predeceased by her brother Rick Whelan, father John, mother Margie, husband Franz and step-daughter Monika.

A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be hosted by her children at SKYLIGHT (833 Santa Fe Dr Denver, CO 80204) in the early afternoon of Saturday July 27, 2024 from 1 PM until 4 PM.
