Mary Sue ""Sary"" Gibbons

Mary Sue (Sary) Gibbons, 93, died January 28, 2020. Sary was born in Denver and attended East High School and Colorado State University. She completed her training and worked for several years as a dietitian at Stanford University. Sary was predeceased by Bob, her husband of 66 years. She will be deeply missed by their seven children, fourteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, extended family and innumerable friends. She was a beloved and dedicated volunteer. Sary's career as a volunteer included St. Joseph's Hospital, but her main passion was education. She volunteered at every school her children attended, including St. James Elementary and George Washington, East, and Manual High Schools. She was a coordinator and group leader for Junior and Collegiate Great Books. And, Sary was a founding member of the Colorado chapter of the ""I Have a Dream"" Foundation. A Celebration of Life will be held at Horan & McConaty, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd, on Saturday, February 29 at 11:30.

A mass for Sary will be held at Risen Christ Catholic Church, 3060 S. Monaco Pkwy, Friday, February 28 at 3:00 PM
