Mary B. Gormley (nee Bevis), age of 93, died peacefully in her sleep in Denver, Colorado, Tuesday, May 5, 2020.
Mary was born in Charleston, SC to John and Mary Bevis (Welch) on September 15, 1926. Mary was the middle child of twelve children and grew up in Charleston, SC.
Mary was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. As a military spouse, she lived and traveled throughout the United States and Germany. Mary was a retired Federal employee who loved to read, spend time at the beach, and gather with friends. Most of all, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her two children, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: son Joseph (Denver, CO) and daughter Mary Gormley Waldron (Huntington, NY); grandchildren Jennifer Farwell (Gormley) (Coeur D'Alene, ID), Jennifer Colechin (Waldron) (Australia), and Michael (New York, NY); great-grandchildren Atlas Farwell, and Emilia Colechin. Mary is survived by two brothers Charles and James (Charleston, SC area) in addition to about 50 nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
She will be dearly missed and loved always.
Mary's cremated ashes will be released along the top of Colorado's Pikes Peak and in Charleston, SC.
