Proverbs 31:28 (NLT) - ""Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her."" On this day, March 29th of 2016, my mother succumbed to her long battle with Dementia, and now her beautiful soul is in the presence of our Lord. She knew the enduring love of her husband, children, grandchildren, and that of extended family members and close friends; and we were all blessed to have known her deep love for all of us. Although her struggle with such a relentless disease exacted a slow and devastating toll on her mind and body over the last several years of her life, she passed peacefully and painlessly sometime during the early morning hours. I will never forget the strain and anguish in her face the last night of her life as compared to her tranquil disposition the morning after she passed. She had grown tired of a great fight and was ready to go home. We could see in her face that she had seen the face of her Father upon her passing. In addition to the love and support of many friends and family members, my father and sister have been true pillars of strength; particularly during the last few years. They sacrificed every bit of themselves to love and serve a beloved wife and mother during the most difficult stages of the disease. The Lord has witnessed what they have done, and I know He is very proud. These works of service and love bestowed upon my mom were a testament to her faithfulness as a dedicated mother and wife. We've been blessed with friends and professionals who taught us how to cope with this disease as a family while providing the care that my mom deserved. We are grateful for all the selfless offerings of support and knowledge without which we were lost in what to do. I know that there are those of you who are or will be impacted by this disease, and we are available to support you with any and all the knowledge with which we've been blessed. For now we grieve, but soon we will rejoice and celebrate the wonderful memories of my mom. -Mary's Loving Family Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Hardy Louis Griffin, Jr. Ret. Lt.Col.
