Mary Drake Hale

Mary Drake Hale passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 93 on Thursday, February 15^th 2024.  Mary was born in Exeter, New Hampshire on May 2^nd 1930.  She was the only child of Joshua F. Drake and Helen (Brown) Drake. She enjoyed her childhood and was her parent’s pride and joy.

Mary would meet the love of her life, Wallace P Hale, at a USO dance and later marry him on December 05, 1953. She said it was love at first sight. Together with her father, they would build their home where they raised their family.  Mary was not fond of dusting and so she could be found out in the garden where her thumb was surely green.  Mary was married to Wally for 60 years before his passing in 2014. 

Together Mary and Wally had many adventures including square dancing, camping, gallivanting and traveling cross country in their RV.  But their greatest adventure was becoming grandparents.  They were very active with and supportive of their grandchildren whom they loved dearly.

After Wally’s passing, Mary took Snoop into her home, her closest companion for almost nine years.  Snoop was a long-haired dachshund, and they were inseparable until a little more than a year ago when Snoop passed.  They were great walking buddies and kept each other active.  She would often talk about her daily time spent with Snoop.  

Mary is survived by her children Dwight W and Mark D Hale, her grandchildren, Joshua K Hale and Victoria A Jones and her great grandchildren, Jaina L Hale and Makenna V Jones.

Mary will be missed here on Earth but comfort is drawn knowing she is back with the love of her life, Wally.
