Mary Boland Henning, 69, of Englewood, Colorado passed away January 29, 2021.
Mary was the beloved wife of Mark, and mother of Lisa (Brandon) Russell, Brian Henning, and Alison Henning.
She is also survived by her grandson Quinn Russell, brother Michael (Mary) Boland, sisters Patricia (the late Lance) Brenner, Kathleen Boland, Elizabeth Boland (Mike Faucher), Anne (the late Doug) Johnson, and Rachael (Bill) Kendrick, as well as many other relatives, friends, colleagues, and students.
The family is planning a celebration of life later this year, pandemic permitting.
Mary’s interests included time with family and friends, reading, cooking, travel, gardening, theater, and, oh yes, shopping.
Mary served as a nurse for many years at Knapp Elementary School in Denver, impacting the lives of thousands of children.
For the last 23 years Mary was also deeply involved with the Horizons Program at Colorado Academy, providing educational enrichment opportunities for Knapp students.
In 2015, Mary and her sister Elizabeth Boland founded the Henning Health and Wellness Program of the Horizons Program which enhances opportunities for health and life-skills activities with long-lasting impact.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Henning Health & Wellness Program of the Horizons Program at Colorado Academy.
