Mary Michael Hill

July 9, 1963 — June 10, 2014

Mary Michael Hill was born in Denver, Colorado on July 9, 1963 to Robert and Rita Hill. She lived in south Denver until her sudden death at the very young age of 50. She graduated South High School, class of 1981 and attended Metro State College. Mary worked at her families business, Do-It-Ur-Self Plumbing and Heating Supply for 32 years as the showroom manager and had developed a huge following due to her amazing customer service and her vast knowledge of the product. She gave birth to her cherished daughter Brittney in 1983. She was a wonderful, loving mother that took such tremendous pride in Brittney and raising her as a single parent. Mary and Brittney's love for each other, along with their strong bond, was unbreakable. Mary was our family genealogist she worked tirelessly and with a lot of passion to create an amazing history of our ancestors that we will treasure forever. She was also a brilliant writer and hoped one day to write screenplays for movies…writing in general was such a joy for her. She had a great sense of humor, keeping us laughing until we were in tears…she lit up a room with her presence. Mary loved to be with her family if it just meant watching a movie, a favorite TV show or having a get together to barbeque. Mary had a very adventurous spirit and we only wish she could have fulfilled half of all she dreamed of doing. She is survived by her dear mother Rita, her beloved daughter Brittney, her much loved son-in-law Tony, her cat Grace and her grand dogs Walter and Macy. She is preceded in death by her father Robert, whom she loved dearly. Mary's treasured siblings Christine (Allan), Susan (Dan), Robin, Rick (Caroline), Robert (Maryann), Melissa (Mark) and Monica also survive her and will miss her for eternity. Mary loved her nieces Samantha (Todd), Tiffany, Sara, Mary Katherine, Annie, Ginger and Carenna beyond words and she was so very proud of her nephews Jason (Wendy), Michael (Jamie), Mark (Cassandra), Addison, Patrick, Jackson, Alexander and Chandler…she was collectively their cherished Aunt 'May May' and they will miss her every day of their life. Mary was a chief organizer of our yearly family picnics and had an especially deep love for all of her cousins in the states and in Ireland. She cherished her relationship with her surviving Aunt Maureen and Uncle Jerry (Joan) and it was important for her to keep in touch with them as often as possible. We are all heartbroken and devastated by the sudden and untimely passing of our daughter, mother, sister, aunt, niece, amazing spirit and stellar human being that Mary Michael was. We all have a great guardian angel now and will hold her memory in our hearts forever. Services will be held for Mary Michael on Friday, July 18th at Mount Vernon Country Club in Golden, CO from 11 to 3. Donations in Mary's memory may be made to Girls Inc. of Metro Denver at www.girlsincdenver.org or by mail to 1499 Julian Street; Denver, CO 80204.
