Mary Joanne Holden was born on October 23rd, 1941, in Denver, CO. She passed away on Friday December 2nd, 2022, in Wheatridge, CO, after a lifetime battle of breast cancer. Ultimately Leukemia sent her home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven.
Mary was loving, selfless and lived happily for Jesus, her children, and grandchildren. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 34 and would have several other diagnoses along her journey. But that would not define her, that only drew her closer to God and her family. Mary worked as a bookkeeper and in the hotel industry for many years. Later, Mary enjoyed volunteering at the hospital and the church. She loved to travel, whether it was getting on a plane going to Italy or getting in the car for a road trip, especially to go see her daughter and grandchildren in Iowa. If it had anything to do with family, she was there. She loved sharing stories about her life and family. Her smile and laugh were contagious. She was an amazingly strong and courageous woman.
Mary is survived by her three children, Rae Ann (Troy) Thede, James Holden, Diane Holden; her grandchildren, Ty Thede, Cameron Thede, Taylor Thede, Dillon Holden, Jacob Holden; and many other beloved cousins, beloved lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dominic, and Helen Scioli (Bruno); her brother David Scioli.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday December 10th 2022 at 12:00pm at Horan & McConaty 7577 West 80th Ave. Arvada, Co. 80003. Reception will follow the services.
