Mary Ellen Ifft

Mary Ellen (Houser) Ifft, age 98, passed way on May 20, 2015. She was born in 1916 in Mountaintop, PA. She went to beautician school in Pittsburgh, then owned and operated her own beauty shop in Zelienople, PA. She married Ralph Ifft in 1942 and they were together for more than 50 years while residing in Butler, PA. They raised 2 children, Susan (Ifft) Christie of Highlands Ranch, CO and Thomas Ifft of Lancaster, SC. Mary Ellen spent her last years living with her daughter Susan and son-in-law Ralph Christie in Colorado. Mary Ellen was passionate about animals and her many pets, enjoyed oil painting, bridge club, extensive traveling, and being with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and two sisters. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 E.
