Mary Lee Kilcollins

November 24, 1929 — August 18, 2016

Mary Lee (Kistler) Kilcollins November 24, 1929 - August 18, 2016 Survived by daughters Susan (Terry) Hayes of Colorado Springs, CO and Bonnie (Paul) Kerr of Stuttgart, Germany; brother Jack Kistler of Eureka, CA; three grandchildren, Tim Hayes, Sarah Rendon and Matthew Hayes; five great grandchildren (Hudson Hayes, Julian and Sophia Rendon and one on the way, and Micah and Jonah Hayes). Mary Lee grew up in her hometown of Watsonville, CA where she played the french horn in the band at her HS. Following graduation she attended Multnomah School of the Bible (Portland, OR) in the early1950's minoring in Biblical Studies. She moved to Denver, CO to attend Rockmont College intending to become a teacher. She met and married Alton G. Kilcollins in 1954 (d.1987), residing at 2831 W. Iowa Ave. Denver CO almost 60 years. She was a homemaker while her girls were young, later working at Academy Answering Service around 1971 as a Telephone Operator then later Manager until the early 1990s. In 1992 she was employed by Financial Security Management as an Administrative Assistant, until age 78, refusing to retire. She finished her journey residing at The Courtyard at Lakewood CO Independent Living where she was crowned ""Queen"" on Valentine's Day. She never knew a stranger and greeted all who came across her path. Mary Lee was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. As a great-grandmother she was known as ""GG"". She loved Jesus with all her heart and served in countless ways in her church, New Life Fellowship Church (formerly known as Judson Memorial Baptist Church). She loved to teach and lead Bible studies, greeter, sharing her faith and possessed over 60 Bibles. She volunteered with the Republican party, enjoyed the Red Hats Society, loved attending the opera, traveled to Europe several times where family were stationed, and blessed many giving and sharing about ""tea"" speaking and giving tea parties with all her tea cups and tea bears! Her hobbies were crafts, stamping cards, singing and playing the kazoo and of course shopping. She had a voice everyone recognized immediately in person, and on the phone, and who will ever forget her infectious laugh. She loved life immensely, always positive and one of her favorite sayings was ""You are young only once, but you can be immature for life"". She's now rejoicing with Christ and the loved ones who were waiting. A ""Celebration of Life"" will be Sunday, 08/21/2016, 4:00PM, New Life Fellowship Church, 2707 West Mississippi Ave, Denver, CO 80219. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army, a ministry near to Mary Lee's heart.
