Mary Ian Kuhns

Mary, 86, passed away on November 24, 2009 surrounded by her entire immediate family. Her family will celebrate her life on Monday, November 30, 11:00 am at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her survivors include her sons John (Lynn) and David (Patti); grandchildren Melissa (Adam) Abraham, Michelle and Sean Kuhns, Tom Gallahue, Courtney and Brent Kuhns; great grandchildren Cailyn, Ailee and Jaedyn Abraham; sister Jacquie (Ray) Lorenz; brother-in-law Paul Youngblood and his family; and her two cats Bumpkin and Iris. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Woody Kuhns, and her sister Madge Youngblood. A Denver native, Mary was a pioneer for women in the banking industry. Her career began at The University Hills Bank in the mid 1950's. She became one of the first women to achieve the position of Vice President and retired as a Senior Vice President in 1997.
