Mary Ann Lamoureux

Lamoureux, Mary Ann, 82, Of Littleton, CO passed away on January 22, 2014. Visitation will be held from 5 -7 PM on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 followed by Recitation of the Rosary at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood CO. Funeral Services 10 AM, Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the same location. Interment at fort Logan National Cemetery. Mary Ann was born to Arthur and Eunice (Kennedy) Olson on April 16, 1931. She was raised in the Sioux City, IA area and graduated from Leeds High School, Class of 1950. She married the love of her life, Pat Lamoureux, in August of 1951 in Leeds, IA where they resided and raised six children, moving to Littleton, CO in 1977. Mary Ann worked, for most of her life, in the food service industry. As a young woman she was a waitress for many restaurants and cafés. These included: The Blue star, Wag's Hut, Joe Gant's Steak House, and the Sioux City County club. She also worked as a Clerk at JC Penney's and as a Cashier/Checker at Warehouse Market, all in the Sioux City and Leeds area. When her family moved to Colorado, she kept busy and was a licensed Day Care Provider for a short period of time, she loved all the children as if they were her own. Some of those parents and children, kept in touch with her many years later. She then started working as a Head Cook for facilities such as: Synergy Rehabilitation at Ft. Logan Mental Health, Hall Mark Nursing Center and a small private Day Care Facility. She then moved on to manage the Swiss Pretzel Company locations at the Villa Italia Mall and then the Southwest Plaza Store. Mary Ann then retired from working to stay at home where she could have more time with family, her grand-children and her great-grandchildren and her needlework. Mary Ann is survived by her children; Mike (Arlene) of Englewood, CO, Pam (Jim) Kobbe of Castle Rock, CO, Marc of St. Mary's Glacier, CO, Paul (Brenda) of Lakewood, CO, Penny (Jamie) Allen of Argyle, WI., Matt (Rachel) of Denver, CO, 20 grand children, 20 great-grand children and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Pat, her parents, her brothers; Danny Olson and Norman ""Ole"" Olson and many nieces and nephews.
