Mary Anne Magee was born on December 25, 1937 to Robert and Helen Redshaw. At the time of her birth, her parents resided on the family farm in Whitby, Ontario and there was not a hospital there, so her mother had to go to Oshawa to give birth in the hospital. Mary spent most of her young childhood living on the family farm with her mother, father, and grandmother and grandfather Chambers. One of the biggest highlights of Mary's childhood was going and picking strawberries at the local farmer's strawberry patches with her mother every summer. At the age of 9 her mother and father moved the family to Ajax where she finished her school years. She attended a one room school house where she was a straight ""A"" student her entire school career. Mary even finished several grades of schooling in one year. She excelled so well in school that she graduated at the age of 16. After graduating from school, she took a secretary job at General Motors Headquarters for two years. Upon leaving General Motors, Mary went to work for a Electrical Contractor where she meet William Magee. In 1956, at the age of 19, Mary and Bill moved to Drayton Valley, Alberta and were married. Here is where the first of her five children; Darcy, Cindy, and Greg; were born. In 1961, the family moved back to Ontario. In 1967, the family moved to Woodhaven, MI where Bill worked for Ford doing the electrical on the new plant being built. While living in Woodhaven, racial riots broke out and a neighbor gave Mary a loaded gun and told her that if anyone came to the house and she felt threatened to shoot them. When Bill got home from work that night Mary told him about the gun and how some of the rioters were driving right by the house. He had her pack up the house that very night and they moved to Colorado the next day. Here is where the last two of her children, Patti and Susan, were born. Mary spent the next 15 years of her life raising her children and helping her husband Bill run his electrical contracting business. In August of 1982, Bill went to be with the Lord. Mary then lived in Greeley from 1982-1992. She left Greeley in 1992 and moved to Byers and worked for Bradbury Land & Cattle until 1996. Mary left Byers and moved to Aurora and started working for the Golden Corral. Mary spent most of her free time going to one of her 20 grandkids many activities. She also has two great grand children and one more that is due to join the family sometime around October. The last 12 years Mary worked at the Golden Corral where she developed many friendships and acquired many ""adopted"" children. As most of you know, her many fellow employees were just as much family to her as her own family. Chris and Mark, she considered you just as much one of her sons as her own sons. She loved her customers dearly and looked forward to going to work everyday to see her ""regulars"". She loved you all and spoke and thought of you fondly. She recently told her family that she lived a very fulfilled life. Mary's friends and family of the Golden Corral were a big part of that. Mary's family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of you for all your love and care that was shown to Mary over the last two months. It really show her how much she was really loved and cared for. Mary went to be with her Lord on March 20, 2008
