In Loving Memory of Mary Ida Mossman

On November 26, 2024, Mary Ida Mossman was peacefully swept into heaven, reunited with her beloved husband, Theodore F. Mossman.

Mary was born on January 13, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, to migrant parents. Following the end of World War II, her family returned to New Mexico, where she was lovingly adopted by Juan M. Apodaca and Tillie T. Apodaca. With limited opportunities in the area, the family eventually moved to Denver, Colorado, where Mary grew up and formed the foundation of her future.

It was at a dance in Brighton, Colorado, that Mary met the love of her life, Theodore Mossman. Their connection blossomed, and on November 11, 1961, they married, beginning a beautiful journey together. Together, they built a life and family she cherished deeply. Mary’s deep roots in New Mexico shone through her love of green chili—a flavor that brought her joy and fondly connected her to her heritage and loved ones.

Mary had a vibrant passion for shopping, delighting in finding treasures for herself and her family. Her generosity and thoughtful nature ensured that her gifts were always given with love.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and compassion lit up the lives of all who knew her. Her kindness, strength, and selfless spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

Mary is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Dolly Mossman, Audrey Benson, Theodore F. Mossman II (married to Heidi Mossman), and Victoria Mossman.

Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Diego Ramirez (married to Naomi Ramirez), Audrey Mossman II (married to Fletcher Peterson), Pricilla Mossman Romero, Theodore F. Mossman III, Angela Mossman, Mathew Mossman, and Christopher Mossman.

Her love also lives on in her great-grandchildren: Mileena Ramirez, Devera Ramirez, Valentino Romero Medina, and Apollo Ramirez.

She is also survived by her brother, Victor Vigil, and her sister, Susan Blanchard.

Mary touched countless lives with her warmth, generosity, and boundless love. She will forever be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering devotion to her family, and the joy she brought to those around her.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on December 19th at 11 AM at Horan & McConaty located at 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227.

May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by love.
