Mary Dolores Padilla

Mary Dolores Padilla of Denver, Colorado, passed away on December 27, 2016 at the age of 78. She was born on February 26, 1938 to Anthony (Tony) and Marie Castillo, and was the eldest of their seven children. Mary was a devout Catholic who believed, ""Your faith is first, without God you have nothing. Family is second. Everything else is third."" She and her family were incredibly proud of her graduation upon completion of four years of St. John Vianney Theological studies. Mary led an active life and was committed to regular adoration of the Blessed Sacrament as well as her involvement with many faith based groups. After retiring from her position as Director of Adams County Head Start, she continued to work and volunteer at both Immaculate Heart of Mary and Holy Trinity Catholic churches. Mary was preceded in death by her parents as well as her sister Teresa Silva. She is survived by her children Bill Naranjo, Debra Naranjo, Julie Singer; grandchildren Ashley Naranjo, Christian Naranjo; and siblings, Larry (Mel) Castillo, Florence Castillo, Richard Castillo, Tony (Liz) Castillo and Patricia (John) Padia. She also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, cousins an innumerable friends. She is greatly missed, but will be loved eternally. Visitation will be held in her honor on Tuesday, January 03, 2017 at 6:30 in the evening, followed at 7:00pm by the recitation of the rosary at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 11385 Grant Drive in Northglenn. Her funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 04, 2017 at 10:30 in the Morning, also at Immaculate Heart of Mary.
