Mary Mae Rice

Mary Mae Rice was born in Fairmont, Minnesota on May 17, 1931. She went to Heaven on May 18, 2012. She has lived in Denver, Colorado since she was five years old. She attended Gove Jr. High School, East High School, and the University of Denver. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta.
Mary Mae’s passions in this life were her family, friends, playing bridge, gardening (when she had her yard), traveling and volunteering for various organizations. One of her favorites was the Colorado National Historic Society. She spent many hours cleaning and restoring old baskets.
Mary Mae is survived by the love of her life, James Andrews; her daughter Christy Rice (Marvin) Boyd and her son Elliott (Sherry) Rice. Extended family included Rick (Dani) Andrews, Mike (Sue) Andrews, Molly (Duane) Johnson. She also had 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Emerson Scott and sister-in-law, Ann Scott of Buffalo, Wyoming.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2:00 pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rocky Mountain Arthritis Foundation or the National Heart Association.
