Mary Rose Roland passed away in her home on Sunday, July 18, 2010. She was born on August 24, 1917. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marie Niestroy, her husband Dean Roland, and her siblings: Paul (Roberta) Niestroy, Anton (Alice) Niestroy, Wanda (Charles) Sergison, Hattie (Herman) Schneider, Cecelia (James) Joyce, Joseph (Ellen) Niestroy and Regina (Adrian) Eisele. Mary is survived by stepdaughters Kay Largel and Stephana Cook and stepsons Thomas D. Roland and John R. Roland. She has numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews in Illinois and Michigan and dear friends in Colorado who will dearly miss her. Mary Roland had a variety of jobs during her many years here on earth, but her most treasured experience wasbeing the original owner of Electronic Technical Institute from 1959-1984 in Denver, Colorado. She took over this role when her husband passed away in a time when women were not involved in business or education. Many students passed through the school and went on to various technical endeavors. Mary was well respected by students and future employers regarding this endeavor. She was a member of the Church of the Risen Christ and will be buried following a 10:00 AM Mass on Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. In lieu of masses or flowers, donations to the Church of the Risen Christ in Mary Roland's name would be appreciated.
