Mary “Molly” Murphy Rosenkrans, 85, of Greenwood Village, CO, passed away peacefully August 12, 2021 at Swedish Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. She fought her hardest to overcome the consequences of a stroke and subsequent seizures.
Molly was born December 2, 1935 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to John and Mary (Quigley) Murphy. She graduated from St. Margaret's High School in Tappahannok, Virginia in 1954. She then attended the University of Pittsburgh where she received a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 1958. In August of 1958, she married Donald Rosenkrans in Pittsburgh, PA.
After multiple moves around the country, they settled in Denver, Colorado in 1973. She was a dedicated homemaker, gardener and avid reader. She was an active volunteer in Greenwood Village serving on several boards and advisory committees.
Molly is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Donald DeForest Rosenkrans. She is also survived by her children, Donald (Kathy) Rosenkrans, Jr. of Castle Pines, Colorado and Nancy (James) Sutton II of Sun Valley, Idaho and five grandchildren, Thomas (Kaylar) Rosenkrans, Sean Sutton, James (Hailey) Sutton III, Sarah (Austin) Bowles and Samantha Sutton.
Visitation will be October 7, 2021 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. at Horan & McConaty - Centennial and a Committal Service October 8, 2021 at 11:15 a.m. at Fort Logan. Donations can be made in memory of Molly Rosenkrans to the American Stroke Association (
