Mary Scantland

Mary Margaret Scantland, age 85, died on March 26, 2021. She was born in Boulder, Colorado on October 7, 1935. She was a graduate of Texas Christian University with a BA in Home Economics. She married Wayne Scantland on March 29, 1956. They moved to Denver in June of 1957.

Mary was a homemaker and spent her life taking care of her husband and children. She loved to cook and was never afraid of trying new recipes. She was an avid golfer. Her other hobbies included sewing, reading, cross-stitch, and playing bridge. She loved the Denver Broncos and attended games with her husband for many years. Mary loved to travel. She and her husband took many trips throughout the United States and overseas. Her favorite spot to visit was Hawaii.

Mary is survived by her husband, Wayne Scantland, her daughters Vicki Greer and Randy Boman and their husbands, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Horan & McConaty, 7577 W. 80th Avenue, Arvada, on Friday, April 2, at 10:00 a.m. There will be a reception following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
