An avid needle crafter she was seldom without several projects underway.
Mary Pat's career was in the insurance field. She became the first female claims adjuster in the late 1960's. Over the course of her several decade career she was involved with many facets of the business, mostly related to the claims side of the industry.
Mary Pat's church home was South Suburban Christian Church where she was an elder and choir director. She loved music and played the piano and organ. A secret wish had been to learn to play the accordion.
Mary Pat was predeceased by her parents Mary Belle and John M Speed and a sister, Martha Bailey. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Haden, of Texas.
If desired, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, the Dumb Friends League, or a charity of one's choice in Mary Pat's honor.
