Mary ""Corinne"" Sweeney

November 18, 1921 — December 25, 2017

While speaking about her children and grandchildren, Mary Corinne Denning Sweeney, born on November 18, 1921, passed into Jesus' arms on His birthday December 25, 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert Paul Sweeney, in 2005; her son, Robert William Sweeney, in 2004; and her brothers, Gene Denning of Neola, IA, and Mick Denning of Avoca, IA. She was the eldest of the late William and Loretta (Cavanaugh) Denning's nine children and raised on farms in Neola and Shelby, IA. She is survived by one brother, Bernard (Martha) Denning of Neola, IA; five sisters, JoAnn Corinn of Missouri Valley, IA, Leone McCarthy of Omaha, NE, Pauline Fischer of Neola, IA, Angela McDonald of Cambria, MO, and Kathleen (Mike) Dermody of St. Louis, MO. Surviving children include Philip (Bonnie King) Sweeney of Ft. Collins, CO, Mary Jane (Ron) Austin of Omaha, NE, Mary Ellen Sweeney of Denver, CO, Angela (Richard) Pippenger of Danbury, CT, Michael (Frances) Sweeney of Wilmington, NC, Tim of Golden, CO, and Tom (Sheila) Sweeney of Denver, CO. Mary Corinne is also survived by beloved family members: 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, 12/27, 7PM at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd. Denver. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, 12/28, at 11AM at Our Lady of the Pines, 9444 Eagle Cliff Rd, Conifer. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Pines Church in Conifer.
