Mary Frances Todd

Mary Frances Todd, age 83, died in Aurora, CO on April 17, 2020 after a lengthy journey with Alzheimers. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, especially her sense of humor.

She was born Mary Frances Rehling on July 23, 1936 in Oklahoma City to Frances and Lloyd Rehling. She graduated from Salina High School in 1954 and Kansas was the place she always called home though most of her years were spent in Colorado. She had one sister, Betty, who always lived in Oklahoma.

She worked for Colorado Department of Corrections in the Administration office in Colorado Springs. Though she had many interesting stories and worked there for 28 years, her children remember her years as the Avon lady when they were young as the linen closet was always full (and we mean full!) of product. She had a very strong faith and was a member of several churches, the last being Garden Ranch Baptist Church in Colorado Springs. In these recent years, when the words of a sermon no longer connected, the music would; and she would do a little dance and throw up her hands in celebration.

Mary was always making something or learning something new and took classes until her later life. These hobbies included sewing, quilting, cake decorating and making porcelain dolls, all of which she did for many years. She always wanted to go to college and after her kids were grown, she did and attained her Bachelors degree.

She had a very soft spot for children and animals. At one point, her pets consisted of 5 dogs, 3 cats, 2 birds and goldfish, most of which she acquired as rescues. Her great grandson Koby was the light of her life and she always swore she would attend his graduation in 2018. By that time, being around crowds were much too difficult so we took the graduation to her much to her delight as well as other residents at the memory care center. A graduation resonates with all. (Koby was finally able to get his cap back to take to graduation the next day)

She is survived by 4 children (Nancy Morgenson-Colorado Springs, Brenda Easter-Aurora, Brien Morgenson, Parker and Lisa Priest-Crowley TX) a stepson (Brett Todd-Holly Springs NC) a niece (Jane) 2 nephews (Rick and Keith), 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Todd, her sister, her parents and a nephew-Jimmy.

Services will be held at Memorial Gardens in Colorado Springs on July 13, 2020 at 1:00pm. Address is 3825 Airport Rd.
