Mary Ward

Mary Ruth Ward of Denver, CO passed away peacefully on December 11, 2020.  She was a loving mother, a faithful wife, an avid bridge player and an excellent dancer.  She was a generous and kind soul who lived a full life dedicated to her husband, family and friends.  Mary was born in Penfield, IL on April 27, 1925 to Helen and John Ellis.  Mary spent much of her life as a homemaker dedicated to raising her 7 children.  She also worked outside the home at The Denver Dry Goods and for the State of Colorado.  She met the love of her life Frank Ward (deceased) at a roller rink in Rantoul, IL.  They married April 14, 1943 and were married for 73 years.  She was an active member in the Catholic church, St. Philomena, Good Shepperd and Risen Christ.  She is survived by her children, Judy Hettinger (Bob), Mike Ward (Joyce-deceased), Bob Ward (Andrea), Barb Shepperd (Gary), Patty Meyer (Jerry), John Ward (Suzy), Linda Falch (Dean) and 72 grand, great and great great grandchildren.

The Viewing will be held December 14, 2020 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. with the praying of the Rosary immediately following at Horan and McConaty, 1091 S Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO 80246

The funeral mass and celebration of Mary’s life will be held December 15, 2020 at 10:00am at Risen Christ Catholic Church, 3060 S Monaco Parkway, Denver, CO 80222
