Mary V. Zimmerman

Mary Zimmerman, 89, passed away August 3, 2015. Beloved wife of Gene for 63 years; and proud grandmother of 5. She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Merl. Mary was born on July 22, 1926 in the little Kansas town of Hiawatha. She and her mother lived in Kansas City, Missouri until she was about twelve and then moved to Denver, Colorado. After high school, she was employed at the Gates Rubber CO., where she met her husband Eugene. Mary was active with the ""United Way"" and helped for many years. She enjoyed bowling with the ladies group and was a pretty good bowler. She enjoyed riding on her motorcycle with her husband Gene and the Shrine group. They took many rides through the western states and Canada. When her sight was failing, she enjoyed listening to tapes from the library. She was happy living at Windsor Gardens and attended church at the Windsor Gardens Church. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 13, 10:00 AM at Windsor Gardens Centerpoint, 597 S Clinton St, Denver, CO 80247. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr, Tampa, FL 33607.
